PlanTracer creates 3D models with just one push of a button

1 April 2003

Consistent Software has released a new product called: PlanTracer. PlanTracer with image enabler will be supplied in two specialised versions, one for the FM market built around AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, and another for AutoDesk's architectural desktop (ADT) aimed at progressive architects.
PlanTracer is the first solution on the market for AutoCAD and ADT that converts 2D floor plans into 3D models with just one push of a button. PlanTracer converts simple vector entities - lines, polylines, arcs and circles - into intelligent models in ADT or AutoCAD that contains walls, columns, windows, doors, beams and other objects.
The conversion of 2D-drawings into an intelligent model is based on the unique algorithms that enable recognition of arbitrary objects by searching and recognising patterns in 2D plans. As an ADT application, PlanTracer bridges the gap making integration of architect archive drawings to ADT quick and easy. Using PlanTracer for AutoCAD, one can also create and edit new floor plans, containing walls, doors, windows, columns and other objects (created by PlanTracer).
