Parker Hannifin to use Autodesk Inventor software

1 December 2000

Autodesk has announced that Parker Hannifin Corporation, a leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies worldwide, has selected Autodesk Inventor software as its primary tool for designing hydraulic and pneumatic components. Parker Hannifin secured 380 copies of Autodesk's newest, high-performance 3D design system.
"With offices and design teams located throughout North America and around the world, we needed a powerful, yet easy-to-use mechanical solution that would allow engineers to quickly begin or modify a design," said Hank Terry, Corporate CAD/CAM/PDM Manager for Parker Hannifin. "Autodesk Inventor's intuitive tools will enable us to cut back significantly on the time spent designing for manufacturing and greatly reduce the time required to get products to market."
With annual sales of US$6 billion, Parker Hannifin provides systematic, precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial, and aerospace markets. The company's products are vital to virtually any process that requires movement or control, including the manufacture and processing of raw materials and durable goods, infrastructure development, and all forms of transport. The company will deploy Autodesk Inventor software to approximately 57 of its North American offices, throughout the company's 80 divisions.
"After an extensive evaluation, Parker Hannifin decided that Autodesk Inventor's adaptive technology and collaboration tools offered their mechanical engineers and designers tremendous advantages over competitive products," said Robert Kross, Vice President of the Mechanical Market Group for Autodesk. "Parker Hannifin's selection of Autodesk Inventor is another huge testament to the product's value proposition."
