MaxVision sweeps SolidWorks Benchmark 2001

1 November 2001

MaxVision Corporation, represented locally by Intergraph Systems Southern Africa, reports that its MaxPro6000 1,33 GHz Athlon desk-side engineering workstation performed exceptionally well at the mechanical CAD benchmark, sponsored by Solid Solutions Magazine. The benchmark was based upon a radio-controlled model car assembly made up of 22 sub-assemblies and 199 parts, of which 102 parts were unique.
Solid Solutions Magazine reports: "The MaxVision MaxPro Athlon system was the clear winner in both performance and 'Bang for the Buck' categories. It ran the benchmark without problems, and would be an obvious choice for anyone where high performance and low price are the major factors."
A fair contest
Each submitted workstation was configured exactly the same, with 512 MB of memory, with single disk drive, processor and graphics technology selected by the manufacturers.
"The system is now even faster than reported", said Rex van Olst, MD of local distributor Intergraph Systems. "The MaxPro6000 has now been upgraded from 1,33 to 1,4 GHz Athlon while the Pentium 4 is still limited to 1,7 GHz. Combine this with MaxVision's recent introduction of dual Athlon MaxPro6200 desk-side workstation and the MaxPac6000 transportable workstation, and you have an unbeatable family of performance and value."
