International design technology company Autodesk is teaming with two Gauteng software partners, Autograph and TechnoCAD to deliver African-developed design applications powered by the global AutoCAD platform.

Autodesk, develops AutoCAD software, while Autograph and TechnoCAD develop a range of civil engineering applications suited to the South African terrain. Both Autograph and Technocad are accredited resellers of Autodesk design technology.

"This is a partnership that recognises the power of African innovation to deliver civil engineering design applications for South African conditions," explains Errol Ashwell, managing director of Autodesk Africa. "Autodesk and its South African partners are delivering stable, long-term civil engineering design solutions driven by the international platform of the world's design leader, Autodesk."

Ashwell says over four-million Autodesk users worldwide co-fund development of Autodesk products, helping it to drive technological advancements in the design niche.

The development teams from both companies have experience in the civil engineering arena. Their offerings include survey software with localised co-ordinates, digital terrain modelling software, urban roads design software, and pressurised water reticulation design and drafting software.
