TTI adds SolidWorks to its CAD translation matrix

1 February 2003

Translation Technologies(TTI), a developer of patent-pending software that delivers parametric, feature-based and fully modifiable computer-aided design (CAD) translations, has announced the availability of SolidWorks data conversion capabilities for its service-based customers.
Users of TTI's service-based translations are now able to exchange data between SolidWorks Corporation's SolidWorks, PTC's Pro/ENGINEER, Dassault Systemes' CATIA, and EDS' Unigraphics and I-deas. SolidWorks will be added to TTI's licensed software translation matrix during the first quarter of 2003.
"Preservation of design intelligence and design intent, and the accuracy of our converted models, is what sets TTI's software apart from other CAD data exchange tools," stated Mike McDonald, chief technology officer of TTI. "The addition of SolidWorks to TTI's translation matrix now allows a significant segment of the mechanical engineering market to compete for new business in sectors that demand native CAD data from their engineering suppliers."
