SmartTerminal boxes should be installed at accessible heights, with proper RS485 communication and 27VDC power connections, ensuring secure mounting and operational readiness. Mounting and PlacementSmartTerminal enclosures can be flush or surface mounted and should be installed in areas free from damp, salt-air, water ingress, extreme temperatures, or physical abuse. The indicators should be positioned at eye level for easy monitoring, and the front door of ABS enclosures is secured with clips and a special locating key for controlled access.

Electrical and Communication Connections

Each Smart

Terminal requires a Termination Board to interface with the RS485 communications bus and provide 27VDC power to the LCD and control boards.

If the FAC

P communications bus is fully utilized, a Communications Extender Board may be necessary. All terminals support 2. 5mm² cables, and proper wiring ensures reliable communication with the FireFinder FACP.

Configuration and OperationPower-Up: When powered, the LCD displays initialization messages. Address Setting: Set the SmartTerminal address to match the FACP configuration. Normal Operation: Once communication is established, the terminal enters the Normal state, indicated by the front panel power light.
