Estonian IIC-class explosion-proof distribution box specifications

IIC-class explosion-proof distribution boxes are flameproof enclosures designed for hazardous areas, constructed from corrosion-resistant materials, with IP66/67 protection and ATEX/IECEx certification.

Key Specifications

Protection Type: Flameproof (Ex d) enclosures suitable for gas group IIC, which includes hydrogen and acetylene environments, ensuring safe operation in highly explosive atmospheres. Material and Construction: Typically made from copper-free aluminum or stainless steel (AISI 304L or 316L) for corrosion resistance and durability. Powder-coated or brushed finish for additional protection against environmental factors.

Specialized hinge structures prevent damage to flameproof joints during opening and closing, extending service life. Ingress Protection (IP) and NEMA Ratings: High degree of protection, usually IP66, with optional IP67 when fitted with O-rings. Compliant with NEMA Types 4, 4X, 7, and 9, suitable for indoor and outdoor industrial applications.

Operating Temperature: Designed to operate in extreme conditions, with some models supporting temperatures as low as -60 °C. Suitable for both cold and high-temperature industrial environments. Modularity and Installation: Boxes can be combined and installed freely to save space and adapt to various distribution systems.

Multiple sizes and configurations are available to meet specific installation requirements. Optional windows made of heat-resistant tempered glass can be incorporated for visibility into the enclosure. Certifications: ATEX and IECEx certified for use in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, Zone 22, and Class I/II Division 1 hazardous areas.

Some models also comply with UL standards for global deployment. Additional Features: Customizable terminal arrangements and cable gland options. Designed for long-term durability in oil and gas, chemical processing, offshore, and marine environments.

Optional integration of control devices, push buttons, and indicators for local control stations. These specifications make IIC-class explosion-proof distribution boxes highly reliable for industrial applications requiring safe power and signal distribution in explosive atmospheres, particularly where hydrogen or acetylene gases are present.
