Namibian AC Low-Voltage Distribution Box Model

The XL-21 type low-voltage distribution cabinet is a commonly used model in Namibia for industrial, commercial, and civil applications, supporting voltages below 500V and currents up to 800A. Overview of XL-21 Distribution BoxThe XL-21 low-voltage power distribution cabinet is designed for indoor use and is suitable for single-phase and three-phase systems with a frequency of 50Hz to 60Hz. It supports load currents below 630A and voltages below 500V in IT, TN-C, and TT systems, making it versatile for power and lighting distribution in Namibia.

The cabinet is constructed from bent steel plates and welded angle steel, providing a compact, durable structure with easy maintenance access.

Key Features

Protection Devices: Equipped with air circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, and thermal relays for short-circuit and overload protection. Front Panel: Can include operation buttons, indicator lights, and display instruments. A knife switch handle can be installed for power disconnection.

Installation Environment: Suitable for ambient temperatures from -5°C to +40°C, altitudes up to 2000 meters, and relative humidity up to 50% at 40°C (higher humidity allowed at lower temperatures),. Dimensions and Access: Single-sided, front-opening design allows full exposure of internal equipment for maintenance. Both the door and enclosure are grounded for safety.

Protection Level: Enclosure rated at IP30, compliant with IEC 60439-1 and GB7251. 1 standards.

Compliance and Standards

In Namibia, low-voltage distribution boxes must comply with SANS 10142-1 and other national low-voltage standards, ensuring safe installation and operation. Maintenance practices include regular inspection for corrosion, moisture, and secure grounding, as well as proper labeling of metering kiosks and link disconnecting boxes.

Applications

The XL-21 distribution box is widely used in: Industrial and mining enterprisesCivil buildings, schools, and government institutionsResidential and commercial power distribution systems SummaryFor Namibian installations, the XL-21 model provides a reliable, standard-compliant solution for low-voltage distribution, offering flexibility in circuit configuration, robust protection, and ease of maintenance. Compliance with Namibian electrical standards ensures safety and operational efficiency in various environments.
