Does the cable tray have a separate grounding How is it connected

Every metallic cable tray must be grounded in accordance with Article 250 regardless of whether it doubles as an equipment grounding conductor. 18 (A) does not require the tray system to be mechanically continuous, but it must be electrically continuous and bonded. If an EGC cable is installed in or on a cable tray, it should be bonded to each or alternate cable tray sections via grounding clamps (this is not required by the NEC® but it is a desirable practice). The EGC is the most important conductor in an electrical system as its function is electrical safety. It is also covered in NEMA Standard VE-2.

26 mm 2 (10 AWG) ground wire must be used, and in all other markets a 6 mm 2 must be used. Grounding is a mechanism to protect distribution equipment and people under normal operating conditions, abnormal operational (overcurrent and overvoltage) responses, and hazardous conditions such as shocks. Each DISTRIBUTION BOX and controller must be grounded. Grounding of the units: Attach a ground wire from one of. The neutral grounding method is one of the most important elements to consider when utilities plan and operate their distribution system. The specific neutral grounding method chosen by the utility can have significant impacts on reliability of service, safety, protection coordination, power. Safety of Personnel: By safely channeling fault currents into the ground, proper grounding helps to reduce the risk of electric shock to personnel. This manual is intended for people who are involved in variable speed drive system installations and assembly.
