Tajikistan AI joins the server

Tajikistan has operational AI clusters and data centers, including the Area AI technopark and Darya AI computing center, integrating advanced servers and GPU systems to support regional and global AI applications.

AI Infrastructure in Tajikistan

Tajikistan has recently established a national AI cluster and the Area AI technopark, marking Central Asia's first dedicated AI hub. The launch, attended by President Emomali Rahmon, took place in Darvoz district and is part of the National AI Strategy introduced in 2022, aiming for AI to contribute at least 5% to the country's GDP by 2040. The cluster focuses on language models, computational infrastructure, and applied AI research, with a strong emphasis on the Tajik language.

Darya AI Computing Center

The Darya A

I computing center, located in Zev village, Darvoz district, was commissioned to enhance digital business and train specialists in AI technologies. It features 8 high-performance servers, each costing around $40,000, optimized for cold environments to ensure fast and error-free AI computations. The center leverages Tajikistan's hydropower resources to provide green energy for AI operations, increasing the value of electricity through AI computing by up to eight times.

Global Partnerships and TechnologyTajikistan's AI initiatives involve collaborations with Supermicro, which provides GPU-based server platforms for AI model training and inference. The country is also engaging with international partners such as OpenAI, NVIDIA, G42, Mistral AI, and Scale AI to develop AI solutions, including cross-border language models and smart city applications.

The Area A

I platform allows global AI companies to test, operate, and export AI infrastructure solutions using Tajikistan's green energy.

Strategic Significance

These developments position Tajikistan as a regional hub for AI computing, offering scalable platforms for both local and international offtakers.

The A

I Council, led by Azizjon Azimi, is actively promoting AI education, research, and deployment, including initiatives like the AI Academy and partnerships with financial institutions for machine learning applications. This infrastructure supports the country's digital economy, technological sovereignty, and innovation-driven growth.
