Natanya Harrington, sales manager for Graficomp, interviewed Marzaan Henry, who is head of technical support for ACSA, about their new printer.

1. What is your company's main function?

A: ACSA was formed in 1993 to own and manage South Africa's nine major civil airports. ACSA is a partially privatised state-owned enterprise running on a commercial basis. The company also manages Pilanesberg International Airport on behalf of the North West Province government.

2. What/who were you using previously to print? (Printing bureaux, mostly outsourced work)

A: We have always done our printing in-house.

3. How are you finding the printer?

A: The increase in speed over the previous model of printer is its most outstanding feature. Plug-and-play from applications, changing media and cartridges all add up to make this a very easy printer to use.

The print quality is consistent with what we are accustomed to.

4. What is your company predominantly using this printer for?

A: There is probably a 50/50 split between CAD drawings/mapping and GIS.

5. Are you able to expand the business with your new DesignJet Printer?

A: No this printer does not directly have any influence in expanding our business but it does allow us to respond quicker to requests for information and quick response is essential to the nature of our business.
