Printer installs first CPS700

1 August 2003

Rivonia-based printer, Budget Colour, is expanding its offering to customers to include short-run, on-demand, colour printing with the acquisition from Océ of the CPS700, which is particularly suited to variable data and personalised printing applications.
Business development manager, Matt Nelson, says, "The advent of the digital press means greater computer-to-print stability, with consistent colour quality throughout the entire run. We have entered into a business partnership with Océ to bring this state-of-the-art technology to our customers."

The Océ CPS700 (colour production system) owes its productivity to direct imaging. This digital process transfers the complete toner image directly onto an intermediate drum in one quick step. Enhanced Océ colour copy press technology then 'presses' the image onto the paper for consistent colour quality. The advantage of the set memory is that the operator does not have to wait for the job to finish before beginning another. Nelson adds, "The CPS700 offers us increased productivity, functionality, turnaround time and consistency, all of which we pass on to the customer."
According to Nelson, "The CPS700 handles both standard and non-standard materials up to 210 g/m2, offering a wealth of choice. We can print on embossed, textured or coated paper, as well as overhead sheets."
