Imported from Japan by Instant Xposure in Midrand, the MUTOCH Toucan-64 is a large-format colour production inkjet printer that is designed to print high-resolution outdoor applications.

"For the first time we can offer our clients exceptional outdoor quality at an affordable rate," explains Pierre Delport, MD of Instant Xposure. "In the past we had to use outdoor inks on an indoor printer, which involved a costly, time-consuming print process that was not guaranteed for extended periods outdoors." The Toucan-64 has a top printing speed of 37,1 m² per hour and a maximum print width of 1600 mm.

Using piezo-electric, drop-on-demand, inkjet technology, the Toucan-64 prints POP displays, banners, signage, posters, exhibition graphics, stage graphics, floor graphics, backlit displays and outdoor billboards. The specifically developed, high-quality, double-density, solvent-based inks can print directly onto a wide selection of low-cost uncoated materials including scrim vinyl, PVC adhesive films, banner, mesh, and backlit.

Inks are supplied in bulk ink tanks which are refillable on the fly and contain two litres per colour, allowing for large autonomy and unattended printing. The printer also contains digitally controlled heating elements for drying.
