First Arizona 500 installed in Africa

1 April 2004

Océ SA recently announced the first local installation of an Arizona 500, at Graphic Wizard, a printing company that specialises in high-quality large-format work, situated south of Johannesburg.
Introduced to the South African market last year, the Océ Arizona 500 is characterised by exceptionally high print quality, a key selling point for Graphic Wizard, which prides itself on offering its customers outstanding quality and service.
Owner Phil Bredenkamp says, "The Arizona 500 represents state-of-the-art technology and is the first of its kind in Africa. We wanted to offer our customers this new technology, together with the high print quality that characterises the Arizona 500. Océ's support structure is also critical to our business as we operate around the clock, making a 24-hour support infrastructure essential."

Bredenkamp has big plans for Graphic Wizard, and the acquisition of this hi-tech wide-format printer is only the beginning. In the middle of last year, Robert Chidrawi joined Graphic Wizard, bringing with him extensive digital printing and colour management experience gained in the production department of a leading advertising agency.
Chidrawi ensures that the customers get the quality they have come to expect from Graphic Wizard. He says, "Quality is key, both for indoor and outdoor printing, and we ensure that any full colour graphic that our customers require is produced to the best possible standard. The Arizona 500 is definitely opening up other areas of business not previously addressed by Graphic Wizard, making the way clear for future growth."
Océ SA's Display Graphics systems manager, Wojciech Skrzeszewski, concludes, "The Océ Arizona 500 offers an apparent 600 dpi output, high production print speeds (up to 46,5 m2 per hour) and outdoor durability. Perfectly suited to South Africa's high UV index, the printer uses solvent-based inks that are specially formulated to resist fading.
