Best peripherals of 2004: Large-format colour in hours

1 December 2004

The Ocè TCS400 makes productive wide-format colour really easy. This multifunctional system comprises a print engine, a scan unit and an integrated Ocè Power Logic Controller.
It handles complex jobs fast and is so versatile, you can copy, scan and print wide-format colour or black and white all on one system. Simple multiroll media handling makes it possible to have different media types and sizes ready for printing. DIN formats are supported, which saves time on trimming. Operator interaction has been minimised and if action is required, it is self-explanatory. Clear wizards guide you through print-head changes or print quality optimisation.
The Ocè Power Logic Controller streamlines job processing. Different file types are recognised, allowing you to print almost any file without converting it first. But the processor really comes into its own with colour. Whether submitted via the network or the scanner, bitmaps are generated fast. As a result, the print engine starts almost immediately, reducing waiting time.
If you have a print or copy job that cannot wait, use Ocè Advanced Queue Manager to move the file to the top of the queue. You also get true concurrency. While the print engine outputs one file, another job can be copied or submitted from the network and processed while printing. So the next bitmap is ready for production as soon as the printer is ready. What is more, the productivity of the operator feeding originals is independent of the print engine and you can scan-to-file regardless of the printer's workload. Print high priority jobs immediately and put others on hold. If you need additional copies, processed jobs remain in the history queue - so there's no need to re-feed or re-submit documents.
