Cadjet 3D closes gap between CAD and graphics

1 August 2000

Cape Town-based plotting bureau Dragan Systems believes Encad has succeeded in giving architects and engineers a plotter that caters for production and presentation images on one system - the Encad Cadjet 3D. Director Gill Tommasi says that the Cadjet 3D enables Dragan Systems to print GIS maps, renderings and CAD drawings on one machine, making the workflow more manageable. The Cadjet 3D is also an excellent plotter for the bureau's large format colour copying solution.
Dragan Systems has recently installed the plotter in-house where it is used in the plotting bureau as well as a demonstration model. Tommasi explains: "By using the Encad plotters in our bureau the potential buyer is able to evaluate the quality, compatibility and durability. Furthermore, we have hands-on experience of the products we market."
Tommasi is impressed with the Cadjet 3D plotter in that it can output 3D rendered images and maps in full colour, and still give good quality, crisp line drawings on base paper. "The Cadjet 3D plots in 600 dpi. The super draft mode (600x300 dpi) will plot approx 18 A0 colour images in an hour. Another excellent feature is the plotter's continuous ink system.
"The benefits of the Encad Cadjet 3D is that you have a faster turn around time and the option of running much cheaper check and final plots."
First Graphics, a leading supplier of equipment, technology and consumables to the printing industry, is the sole distributor of Encad products.
