Imaging Innovations, sole distributors in sub-Saharan Africa for Contex wide-format scanners have announced the release of the new series of Chroma 40" wide-format colour scanners.

The Chroma scanner has a 40" (1016 mm) wide imaging area to input large colour posters, architectural sketches, maps, photos, drawings, fine art etc. Aubrey Lindemann, Managing Director of Imaging Innovations continues, "the Chroma can even scan these materials when mounted on rigid board up to 0,6" (15 mm) thick and at new speeds of up to 2,5" ps at 200 dpi.

"The Chroma scanner is compatible with most large-format inkjet printers (HP/Xerox and Encad) and with our free JETimage copy software, with touchscreen support, we provide a unique and easy to use touch n' go digital colour copier, by simply linking the Chroma scanner to an inkjet printer" says Lindemann.

The scanning capabilities and features of the Chroma 40" include:

* All digital cameras with advanced point-of-origin colour capture for low noise and extended dynamic range.

* Area Diffusion Logic (ADL+) to also copy demanding black/white and graytone originals.

* On-board realtime colour correction and 2D-filters for colour sharpening and softening providing superior results with a wide variety of input images.

The new series of Chroma colour scanners from Contex provide 600 and 800 dpi resolution, differing in performance from entry level to high end, and can be upgraded with a smart card that enables new features for future requirements.
