Printer handles election poster requirements in Mozambique

1 February 2001

Owner Ray Kirby of Randburg-based Raylene Design and Print never thought that the upcoming Mozambican elections would have an effect on his business. However, landing the contract to produce 22 election posters for different political parties certainly changed that perception. The NovaJet PRO 700 proved to be a good printer for the job.
"We specialise in point-of-sale with our biggest customers the film and video industries. The bigger the budget the more posters, billboards, banners and stands are required. Those products are printed on litho print, the sections joined and mounted on corrugated boards.
"Unfortunately not all films have big budgets but they still need promotional/advertising material. To cater for the short-run stuff we decided to buy a wide format printer. The PRO 700 and the Windows/NT based Accuprint were purchased just at the right time. Shortly after its installation we were awarded the contract to print 22 posters for Mozambique's upcoming elections. This has opened up another market for us."
First Graphics National Sales Manager Eric Morgan says, "The NovaJet 700 is designed for mission critical, high-output applications where the bottom line depends on unbeatable quality and fast turn-around times."
The printer is available in 42" (1080 mm) or 60" (1520 mm) widths, and offers an array of standard features such as the optically driven integrated take-up and dryer system. The 700 media odometer even keeps track of the exact amount of media being used and the extended 500 ml ink system ensures uninterrupted printing while the dual ink supplies allow the flexibility of switching between Encad's range of Quality Imaging Supplies ink. When cartridges are replaced, the pre-primed cartridge system simplifies installation, making it a quick and clean process.
Encad products are locally distributed by First Graphics, specialists in supplying equipment, technology and consumables to the printing industry.
