Protea Graphics announces a new wide-format colour scanner for oversized documents

1 April 2001

Protea Graphics has announced another addition to its Vidar TruScan product family, the Latitude. Extending the Vidar tradition of quality, reliability, speed and accuracy, the new scanner solves many issues in regards to document width limitations. Now even documents as wide as 54 inches (1372 mm) can be scanned.
"Like Vidar's other TruScan scanners, the Latitude has many features, is affordably priced and has a two-year warranty," the company said.
"Furthermore, with its extra wide and 1/2" (12 mm) thick document handling capabilities, it will quickly prove itself to be a versatile piece of equipment in any scanning and reprographic operation."
Designed for use in scan-to-file or scan-to-copy environments, the 54" TruScan Latitude scanner is well suited to the reprographics, CAD, tradeshow and facilities management marketplaces. The scanner maximises colour precision by capturing 36 bits of data, removing the background noise and sending the best 24 bits to the user's computer. In addition, it incorporates Vidar's exclusive 4-wheel drive active roller system to keep flexible drawings safe and straight during the scanning process.
