The Scan Shop in Gardens, Cape Town, is on its fourth Encad since opening its doors in the digital printing business three years ago. Owner Russell Jones bought his latest Encad, the 850 60" in March this year through John Panton of Digital Distributor, a First Graphics value-added reseller.

Jones explains: "I saw the potential of digital printing from the beginning and started up my digital printing business when the technology first came out. After investigating, I recognised that Encad was the best product for my business and that it would stay with me as technology progressed.

"We do coffee table books and high quality posters, hence the machine", Jones continues. We use the Encad for printing high quality digital posters ranging in size from A2 up to 1,5 by 6 m." Jones says this particular model caters to his needs due to its high resolution: "It simulates the photographic look. Even on the biggest posters, you will not know if it is a photo or a digital poster."

First Graphics is the sole local distributor of Encad's product range.
