Pinnacle Micro unveils Bubblejet printer

1 April 2002

Pinnacle Micro has announced that it will be stocking Canon's new BubbleJet S820 printer from mid-April 2002. According to Cathy Dollenberg, product sales manager for printers and digital imaging at Pinnacle Micro: "The Bubble Jet S820 is capable of delivering an A4 full colour print in just two minutes and a borderless 4" x 6" full colour print in approximately one minute.
The S820's 1200 dpi print head feature 1536 nozzles so that it can deliver far more ink droplets per second. The one-pass bi-directional printing technology applied with this print head means that the S820 can print one pass as the head moves from home position and one pass as it returns, producing crisp, vibrant photos in far less time. "Canon's Bubble Jet S820 also features Canon Single Ink technology, which allows the ink tanks to be individually replaced as they are depleted.
"Since certain inks are used faster than others during photo printing, the single ink technology helps make this one of the most economical, easy to use and cost-effective printers on the market," says Dollenberg.
"Another feature of the S820 is its ability to print 'full bleed' images - true borderless prints - that are indistinguishable from traditional prints," she states. The S820 is compatible with Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and Windows NT 4.0, Mac OS and Mac OSX. It comes bundled with Canon PhotoRecord software, to allow multiple layout and auto scaling of images to different paper sizes, and with Canon PhotoStitch, which enables digital images to be combined to create a large panoramic scene.
