Océ introduces new inkjet printer

1 June 2002

The Océ 5250 has a true resolution of 360 dpi and addressable resolution of 720 dpi, both in monochrome and colour. Due to its high resolution, the Océ 5250 prints fine details, sharp lines and text and smooth curves (no staircases), and its high-quality print strategy ensures even colour density for consistent reproduction in all print modes.
Ease of use
The Océ 5250 prints 0,75 A0/E sizes per minute in monochrome and 0,38 A0/E sizes per minute in colour (both in draft mode). In addition, as a result of its unique extra print head for black, the printing speed has doubled in monochrome mode. Productivity is maximised by the simple user interface and easy paper loading.
Printing features include:
* Nesting (raster and vector files): small prints can be arranged side by side across the paper to optimise roll media.
* Scaling (vector and raster files): images can be custom-zoomed or auto-zoomed to the receiving media size.
* Rotation (vector files): files can be rotated to the best fitting media format, to the most productive printing method (landscape) or to save paper.
High compatibility
The Océ 5250 supports all major file formats like HPGL, HPGL/2, HP-RTL, TIFF, Calcomp and Cals used in most CAD and EDMS environments.
Complete connectivity
Standard network connectivity is offered with 10/100baseT Ethernet and Centronics connection assuring integration of the system within network and working processes. With its built-in network connectivity the Océ 5250 can be used wherever it is needed and easily repositioned by connecting it to the nearest network node. All popular protocols are supported like TCP/IP, FTP, SMB and LPD.
Media flexibility
The Océ 5250 is equipped with one paper roll (up to 50 m) but can also print from cut sheets. It can handle a broad variety of media, both on rolls and as sheets, namely standard, draft, premium grade, presentation, translucent, tracing, white glossy, coloured papers and single and double matt, and clear film. Both DIN and ANSI paper formats are supported with automatic width detection productivity maintained.
