Minolta South Africa has announced the launch of the new DiALTA Di650 multi-functional copier with optional printer and scanner functions, that delivers high-quality, digital imaging with advanced finishing capabilities.

According to copier product manager, Paul Symonds, the Di650 is ideal for offices that perform heavy volume copying, Central Reprographic Departments (CRDs) and Print for Pay (PFP) businesses. "The use of A3-wide paper and heavyweight paper up to 200 g/m² and copying and printing onto tabbed sheets makes the Di650 suitable for the CRD and PFP applications," he says.

The Di650 copies at a high-speed 65 pages per minute. Scanning and printing are performed in 600 dpi resolution, while Minolta's newly developed polymerised toner provides smooth 6,5 mm particles of uniform size ensuring sharp text, fine lines and smooth halftone reproduction.

Users can add a host of optional advanced finishing functions that include stapling and punching, folding functions that include three-fold and a cover inserter which inserts pre-printed or coloured covers during binding.

Adding the optional Pi6500Pro printer controller allows the Di650 to serve as a PCL or Adobe PostScript 3 network printer and scanner. Used as a printer, the Di650 benefits from the same finishing functions as when it is used as a copier. When used as a scanner, scanned images that have been stored in the controller's HDD can be retrieved from the client's PC.
