Low-cost CAD printer

1 October 2002

Hewlett-Packard has launched its new DesignJet 100 printer, a low cost solution for CAD professionals, construction and project managers who need to print line drawings in A2 and A1 and office documents in A4/A3.
The DJ 100 has multiformat printing and is able to print all sizes up to 24" (A1), thereby eliminate outsourcing costs for occasional large-format needs. Independently replaceable ink cartridges and built-in smart chips track low-ink levels and worn printheads. The DJ 100 allows one to print a variety of office, CAD and oversize documents from proposals to drawings, whilst the dual paper path avoids unloading loaded media every time a user wants to change media. The DJ 100 also supports thick printing material (up to 0,4 mm/300 g).
Furthermore, the DJ 100 has a CAD print mode for optimised speed and is able to print line drawings (A1) in 90 s with pigmented black to get crisp and sharp lines.
The new printer is compatible with ACAD, Caddie, Microstation and all mainstream CAD systems.
