Inkjet printer delivers true-to-life photo quality

1 December 2002

Hewlett-Packard's new HP Deskjet 5550 colour inkjet printer offers a wide range of printing tasks, all in a sleek state-of-the-art design package.
The HP Deskjet 5550 is the first HP Deskjet printer to have up to 4800 x 1200 optimised dpi in colour printing or optional HP Photoret IV precision technology which means it offers optional six-ink colour printing for high-quality photo quality. The HP Deskjet also offers borderless 10 x 15 cm photo printing.
The Deskjet 5550 is now capable of printing laser-quality black text at up to 17 pages per minute and colour photos at up to 12 pages per minute on most paper types and sizes.
The Deskjet 5550 printer brings the consumer a wide range of innovative and easy to use features, which include a print screen feature, energy saving feature, and paper-type sensor. HP's print screen feature makes it easy to print screen captures of Web pages, computer game scores and financial transactions, or even print directly from applications that lack printing functions by simply using the print screen button on a computer keyboard. In addition, an ink backup mode allows print jobs to be completed even when a cartridge runs out, and the ink level indictor allows consumers to reduce waste and printing mistakes by allowing them to plan ahead and stock the print cartridges they need.
The automatic pen alignment ensures that optimum print results are achieved on all media. Paper costs can be reduced with the optional automatic two-sided printing module.
