Highland print acquires large format printer

1 February 2003

Highland Print SA, a company that specialises in carton packaging and leaflets, has acquired an Epson Stylus Pro 7000 large format printer from imaging solutions company First Graphics.
With branches in Meadowdale in Johannesburg and Epping in Cape Town, Highland Print SA concentrates on the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food markets. Grant Hubbard, operations director at Highland Print SA, reports that his company bought and installed the Epson 7000 in July 2002. It is being used to produce proofs of new and changed artwork for approval by the customer, as well as for the production of chromalins.
The Epson Stylus Pro 7000 is well suited to this type of work, providing high-quality 1440 dpi image quality and handling 24" roll media, while the straight printer path enables direct printing onto cut sheet media from A4 to A1+ and board up to 1,5 mm thick.
Hubbard adds: "We have another Epson printer, an Epson Stylus Photo 1200, which is a real work horse. We use this printer mostly for small proofs and in-house checking of text and artwork."
