Printer expands its offering to customers with Encad

1 February 2003

For the past 36 years Shereno Printers has adapted and grown alongside its customers to ensure that their needs are always met. Now, the company has acquired an Encad NovaJet 850 wide-format printer so that it can meet its customers' poster and banner printing requirements in-house.
Based in Dunswart on the East Rand, Shereno Printers is a family owned concern that provides a printing service to businesses in the greater Benoni and Boksburg areas. Managing director Niran Singh looked at acquiring an Encad printer a year ago. Shereno Printers acquired the Encad NovaJet 850 in August last year following extensive negotiations with First Graphics.
Singh says, "We always try to assess what our customers' needs are and then we look at how we can meet all of their requirements in-house. Situated as we are, on the East Rand, it makes more sense for us to be able to offer a full house of services, instead of trying to outsource work that is not our core business. Many of our regular customers need to have posters and banners printed in addition to their usual printing requirements, so we decided to acquire a wide-format printer for our repro and design studio."
The Encad NovaJet 850 is hooked up to the computer-to-plate system, enabling it to double up as a digital proofing system, offering Shereno's customers another service that will ensure quality and accuracy. The Encad NovaJet 850's eight-colour performance produces high quality colour gamut and smooth tonal gradations. Furthermore, with the ability to keep two ink sets installed at the same time, the NovaJet 850 makes it easy to switch from indoor graphics to outdoor signs at the touch of a button.
