A complete range of high-quality, wide-format plotters/copiers/scanners

1 August 2004

The KM-4800 series is productive, reliable and, above all, affordable. High-quality wide-format imaging has become an essential tool in industries such as construction, engineering, manufacturing, government, utilities and print for pay.
Kyocera Mita is meeting this growing demand with a range of five different and customisable wide-format plotters/copiers/scanners, which are fast, reliable and guaranteed to deliver A0 size or larger image with superior quality.
All Kyocera Mita wide-format products deliver 600 x 600 dpi scan/print resolution with 256 greyscales. They also feature multibit (16 greyscales per dot) printing technology for exceptional overall image quality.
The products incorporate numerous speed/convenience features that combine to make them incredibly productive. They offer 4,8 or 3,0 metres per minute plots/copies with 600 x 600 dpi. Standard copy memory is 128 MB, which stores an image bigger than A0, enabling productive copy functions, such as repeat copy or rotate copy. One scan many copies delivers up to 99 copies from a single scan. In addition, the standard copy memory allows a user to start scanning originals during copying/plotting or warming-up. All products have two paper rolls as standard, with the option of a third roll.
The KM-4800w series provides unique methods to protect originals. For example, the careful handling of curled originals is ensured by the Auto Switch Back function and skew protection (original aligning).
Copy functions
Repeat Copy allows the last scanned copy job to be repeated. It does not only repeat the same copy, but gives the opportunity to change original mode, copy contrast, zoom, to do fine adjustment like de-skewing or copy size adjustment, to add editing functions such as shifting image or adding front margin, or to select different roll paper or different cut mode.
Repeat Copy Permission gives three different levels to allow the making of repeat copies: Permit to everyone, permit to those with the ID code, or not permit to anybody. This makes confidential projects completely secure.
Preview Copy: KM-4800w provides two types of preview copy: contrast preview or image preview. The default can be changed by copy default setting (administrator level).
Contrast Preview allows a user to find the best contrast before copying - eliminating guesswork and reducing mis-copies.
Image Preview allows you to see the first 279 mm of your original for checking, thus reducing the trial-and-errors and paper waste, saving time and cost.
Rotate Copy: when the same size of roll paper is not available, KM-4800w will rotate the original and select the right roll paper thanks to auto rotate copy (set by copy default setting). Also, the original can be rotated from the Rotate Copy function (one of the editing functions), ensuring the right direction (longer edge output) for the online folder, at the same time, saving time by allowing you to scan shorter edge originals.
Plot functions
Kyocera Mita wide-format products support all major file formats as standard, including HP-GL, HP-GL2, HP-RTL, TIFF, Calcomp 906/907, PCX, RLC, BMP, CAtS, T6X, JPEG and DWG/DXF via HDI/ADI printer driver. PostScript 3/PDF, CIT-TG4, TIFF-8-bit grey/colour are supported as an option.
KM-PLOTCLIENT is a program for preparing plot jobs. Any user on the network can define the plot job setting - including pen setting and stamp editing, make drawing sets with different file format from multiple applications and send to KM-4800w for output. Because KM-PLOTCLIENT is application independent, you can plot files without having the application software installed or opened.
When KM-WINPRINT is installed KM-4800w plotters work as Windows printers enabling print/plot from Windows applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Project and any CAD application that runs on Windows and supports Windows printer driver.
KM-ICP Controller has a built-in Web server that enables you to administrate and monitor all aspects of plot jobs via a standard Web browser from any PC on the network that has KM-PLOTCLIENT and/or KM-WINPRINT installed.
By typing in the IP address of the KM-4800w (KM-ICP Controller), you can see all the stored plot jobs and have them restart when needed. Administrators can even upgrade the firmware of KM-ICP Controller from the browser very easily.
Scan functions
KM-SCANTOOL provides Scan-to-PC functions. You can scan to PC, edit the image (as raster image) or rotate the image, put a stamp on etc, and then pass on to the KM-4800w to plot. Also, you can scan to file continuously one after another to make the drawing set.
KM-SCANTOOL allows for effortless centralising of data/drawings; sharing of data/drawings; paper to files; space saving; and retrieval of data/drawings utilising assets.
