Super fast sign and banner printer from Océ

1 August 2004

The latest offering from Océ South Africa's Wide Format Printing Systems is a 1,6 m wide, high performance inkjet system for professional display graphics applications.
The Océ CS6060 solvent inkjet printer is a high-speed, high-resolution printing system that delivers high-quality 720 dpi graphics with outdoor durability up to three years, at production printing speeds of an outstanding 176 square feet per hour. Developed and designed for the production of outdoor signs, banners and graphics, the Océ CS6060 is two to five times faster than other printers in its class.
Exciting new ink technology offers an expanded colour gamut with outdoor durability. The new ink set breaks through the old barriers of colour and outdoor durability by producing deep shiny blacks and vibrant 'fire-engine' red colours while still delivering outstanding outdoor durability. The expanded gamut outdoor ink set, or EG-Outdoor inks, includes six pigmented ink colours: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan and light magenta. Each ink is developed to jet reliably through the industrial piezo inkjet heads of the Océ CS6060 printer, and to provide industry-leading performance on a wide range of uncoated media, including adhesive vinyl, banner scrim, films, fabric and paper.
Of particular relevance in South African weather conditions, the ink can withstand a great deal of both indoor (fluorescent) and outdoor (UV) light exposure without significant fading. Under normal conditions, the inks could be expected to last up to three years without lamination on uncoated vinyl and banner materials.
In addition to its printing speeds and breakthrough colour gamut and durability, the Océ CS6060 offers 64" wide media capacity and 63,6" printing width; automated cleaning and priming station; clean hands ink refilling using 1 litre cartridges; three digitally controlled heaters for fast drying; and an optically-driven automated takeup system.
