E-map architects, MapIT recently sponsored a breakfast hosted by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) at the Johannesburg Country Club.
The breakfast featured erudite keynote speaker, corporate strategist and author, Clem Sunter. He held the audience captive with his presentation on his new book: Games Foxes Play, the sequel to The Mind of a Fox. Sunter delivered a dynamic address on how business should conduct strategic conversations on their future. "The dynamics in South Africa are such that we must expect surprises, operating under relatively high risk. This lends itself to thinking in terms of scenario planning," he stated, "and if you want to succeed in business you must learn your clients' and competitors' games. Once you define the 'game', know the rules, identify key uncertainties, plan alternative scenarios, then play the game and measure the outcomes."
