DataViewer delivers the benefits of large format document security and access across the Internet. This means that organisations can share large graphic files via the Internet, while protecting them with high-level security.

DataViewer delivers electronic authentication of an approved document version (revision) and 128-bit file encryption, which protects the file from unauthorised access. At the same time, powerful compression (400x) technology enables clients to access files of 500 MB or more through the Internet. DataViewer also features the ability to add digital signatures to CAD files, so an engineer can authenticate an approved version of a technical document.

Although using the Internet (or Intranet) as a means of data communication, DataViewer is also available for the standard PC-platforms. A variety of database engines, including: Microsoft Access, Oracle, Paradox and MS-SQL are supported. With DataViewer one can create a connection with AutoCAD and Microstation so when the database is updated the drawings title block is also updated automatically. This works both ways so if the drawing is modified the database is updated. To further ensure all drawings can be tracked and managed successfully DataViewer can prevent the creation of drawings without adding them in to the database.
