EDS has been selected by Ford Motor Company to supply and integrate its advanced product lifecycle management (PLM) software technologies, Teamcenter, NX, and E-factory into the automaker's next generation C3P systems environment worldwide. Under the expanded contract EDS, PLM solutions will provide the foundation for integration and collaboration of the global virtual product creation environment. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Teamcenter's ability to manage data in a realworld multiCAD environment is achieved by utilising EDS' Open by Design architecture which will deliver unprecedented interoperability across the virtual Ford community supported by the EDS 'JT everywhere' visualisation standard," said Chuck Grindstaff, president, EDS PLM R&D.; "Standardising on EDS' Teamcenter software will provide the avenue for Ford to achieve next-generation bill of material management."
