Intergraph and Laser-Scan sign reseller agreement

1 October 2003

Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions and Laser-Scan have announced a reseller agreement that allows Intergraph to resell Radius Topology to its customers. Intergraph and Laser-Scan offer complementary products to ensure the integrity of an organisation's valuable geospatial data.
Intergraph's GeoMedia full suite of desktop and Web products provides advanced technologies to create, capture, edit, access and analyse even the most complex geospatial data from disparate formats and sources. Radius Topology offers server-based spatial processing capabilities that extend the Oracle9i database.
Bill Armstrong, MD of Intergraph Systems Southern Africa (ISSA) commented, "Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions has enjoyed a strong relationship with Laser-Scan as a Team GeoMedia Registered Solution Center. ISSA looks forward to working with Laser-Scan to develop the market for this GeoMedia complementary solution. We are pleased to provide customers with additional robust technology to advance their use of geospatial data across the enterprise."
Radius Topology works alongside the Oracle9i database and provides improvements to the speed and consistency of spatial data handling. Without requiring the user to take extra steps, Radius Topology dynamically structures topological data before the user submits it to the database.
GeoMedia Professional and GeoMedia Transaction Manager, a long-term transaction management, versioning and temporal data management product, deployed in combination with Oracle9i and Radius Topology, extend the openness and security of data management environments across the enterprise. Combined, the products provide a solid solution to maintain the integrity of geospatial data in a consistent and transparent manner - regardless of which enterprise application is utilised to manipulate the spatial data.
Duncan Guthrie, sales and marketing director, Laser-Scan, said, "Intergraph is one of the world's leading geospatial solutions providers and this agreement confirms the decision we made one year ago to go mainstream with our well-proven geospatial technology. It also shows the versatility of Radius Topology software because this can be implemented on the desktop or over the Web by using Intergraph's GeoMedia Professional or GeoMedia WebMap products."
Laser-Scan delivers world-class, innovative business solutions for geographic information. Its technology is the result of more than 25 years experience in the development of market-leading database products. Laser-Scan offers a new approach to exploiting location data in enterprise information architectures. For more information, visit www.laser-scan.com.
