Hydro-Comp Enterprises to trade as Edams Technology

1 February 2004

Specialist supplier of consulting services and management systems for the water services industry, Hydro-Comp Enterprises, has announced that it is to begin trading under the name of its parent company; Edams Technology.
Founded in 1985, Hydro-Comp Enterprises has been providing commercial and technical management systems and consulting services to municipalities and water utilities all over southern Africa, with clients that include Swaziland Water Services Corporation, Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company, Department of Water Affairs in Botswana, and South African municipalities such as Port Elizabeth. The projects consulted on vary from billing and customer information systems and integrated commercial and technical management systems, to large-scale network asset management, master planning, network optimisation and unaccounted for water reduction, some of which were funded by the World Bank and African Development Bank.
The decision by Hydro-Comp Enterprises to trade under the name of its parent company has been taken so as to better leverage the international skills base, track record and brand-awareness of the Edams Technology group of companies. With a head office and technology centre in Cyprus, Edams Technology International provides consulting services, integrated management systems and outsourcing services to the utilities industry in western, central and eastern Europe as well as the Middle East.
Chris Dempster, managing director of Hydro-Comp Enterprises, commented, "To start trading under the Edams Technology name is symbolic of our need to work more closely with our parent company and draw on its proven international skills base to provide cost-effective and sustainable solutions to the local industry. This will enable us to offer a more focused consulting and system solution to local municipalities in their endeavours to meet the socio-economic and technical challenges inherent in integrated development planning."
