PE Technikon promotes GIS in schools
1 April 2004
The PE Technikon GIS Unit recently hosted a Geography Awareness Project for the schools in the Port Elizabeth Metropolitan. Entitled 'Where do my possessions come from?' the project aimed to demonstrate the importance of exploring the Earth's natural resources. The students had to explore the activities involved in producing their favourite belongings and trace the geographic origins.
All the projects were displayed at the Weekend Post PE Technikon IT Day held at the Tsitsikamma Conference Centre, Boardwalk Complex.
Westering High School won National Geographic Maps (the complete collection – 8 CD set)
