Du Pont and First Graphics go back to college

1 June 2004

Du Pont and First Graphics have donated a full suite of flexographic platemaking equipment to the South African Printing College, under the auspices of the Cross Media Training Centre.
The system, which is housed in a dedicated room with its own air ventilation and conditioning system, will allow the inclusion of a brand new skills development course in flexo platemaking. This will provide people currently working in the industry with the opportunity to improve their skills in this very critical area of the flexo process.
"We try our very best to offer a comprehensive range of courses here and through the assistance of companies like Du Pont, we are able to ensure that our students have access to the best technology available in each learning area," says Cross Media Training Centre managing director, Nick Delport." While we rely heavily on sponsorship for the provision of equipment, a donation of this sort is a bonus and it means that we can offer the best courses possible without having to consider the capital outlay. I would like to thank both Du Pont and First Graphics for their assistance."
Says Keith Solomon, marketing director of First Graphics," We made a commitment a long time ago to the Cross Media Training Centre and we try to encourage as many of our suppliers as possible to visit this facility when they come to South Africa. The management from Du Pont has been so impressed with this facility that it felt it wanted to make some contribution to assisting the Centre."
