First Graphics appointed local Duplo distributor

1 April 2005

First Graphics has announced that it has been appointed the local distributor for the Duplo range of graphic arts products.
The appointment, which came into effect on 1 March, gives First Graphics a full spectrum of products addressing all sectors of the market from prepress through digital print and now finishing.
Says imaging systems director, Keith Solomon, "For many years First Graphics was recognised as the leading supplier of prepress solutions in the local market. Since our decision to enter the print market with the Xeikon agency, we have seen the need to expand our product offering to cover all sectors of the market and the Duplo range of products was the ideal complement to the products we were already selling."
"The appointment of First Graphics covers all aspects of the graphic arts industry including the printing finishing ranges for companies like Xerox and Océ and the nearline solutions for vendors such as Xeikon, Kodak, NexPress and Indigo," says Rob Reid, regional development manager for southern Africa.
"First Graphics was specifically selected as our new representative because of its well-developed branch infrastructure, the number and quality of its sales personnel and its commitment to providing a fully-stocked showroom, because in this market you cannot sell the equipment unless you can demonstrate it to potential clients."
In order to be able to market the Duplo range competently, First Graphics has appointed Vaughan Patterson to the position of national product manager.
