Autodesk hails civil engineers as the country's unsung heroes

Craig Yeatman, representing Autodesk, recently hailed civil engineers as the country's unsung heroes. The civil engineering community does not get the credit it deserves for ensuring that we have the vital services necessary for both our personal and business lives.
Yeatman was speaking at the South African Institution of Civil Engineering annual awards dinner, sponsored for the second successive year by Autodesk. The prestigious awards ceremony was held at the Indaba Hotel at Fourways in Johannesburg in September.
Awards were made by SAICE in three categories:
* National award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for 2000 for Community-based Projects.
* National award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for 2000 for Technical Excellence.
* National award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for 2000 for International Projects.
* National award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for 2000 for Technical Excellence.
* National award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for 2000 for International Projects.
