Changes to Computer Faire

1 December 2001

Computer Faire, South Africa's largest technology trade show will undergo significant changes to its format in 2002. This is according to Reed Exhibitions SA's General Manager of ITC (Information Technology Communications), Aldean Prior.
"By far the most significant changes are that Computer Faire will now run in conjunction with a major trade conference, and the dropping of Saturday as a show day to the general public, effectively positioning Computer Faire as a true business-to-business technology exhibition," said newly-appointed Prior.
"The conference will be aimed at IT executives and we have concluded a deal with IT-Web to convene the conference on our behalf. The international trend is definitely towards joint conference/exhibition events." Prior said several other changes will be implemented at the next Computer Faire exhibition scheduled for May 2002 at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, including a laptop village, a 'best of new technology' showcase, a demo theatre as well as digital communications and videoconferencing pavilions: Village, Cablenet and Componex sections.
Other focused pavilions already implemented at Computer Faire are Photo Digital, TeleNetCom and Mobilexpo.
