Matan recently introduced the new Spark 1612 at the SGIA. "This machine will be able to print on 16" and 12" with 16" media and 12" media, 16" ribbons and 12" ribbons at a speed of 60 m/hr at a resolution of 400 x 800 dpi." States Amir Gal, Regional Sales Director of Matan (Americas & Africa), "it will be distributed worldwide in high volumes to the sign market."
There are four different types of ribbons, ensuring that this product can print on any surface, from ceramic tiles to fabrics. The resin spot colours include metallic silver and gold, and Matan's thermal transfer technology makes the ink colours more durable as they are 'heat-transferred' into the media being printed on, preventing them from fading or rubbing off. The inks are also waterproof and UV-resistant up to five years, which is essential for outdoor products.
"A major factor with our Matan equipment is that the operator does not need to be an engineer, as operation is easy and user-friendly," says Gal.
