As part of the introduction of Italian office automation supplier, Olivetti Tecnost and its products to sub-Saharan Africa, the company's recently established African division has staged various promotions across Africa over the past 11 months. The 'You know the name, now know the products' campaign, ran together with newly-appointed dealers in various African regions.

According to Fernando Abelho, Olivetti Account Executive for central and southern Africa, the company has been investing in the South African economy since 1948 and, spurred on by its financial growth and success in the southern hemisphere, began an expansion drive into sub-Saharan Africa early last year.

In line with this African expansion, Olivetti established a division at the beginning of 2000 with the primary objective of developing ties and securing new distribution channels for this region. As a result of this, the company already has a network of dealers throughout southern and East Africa.
