Pinnacle Micro expands server range

1 April 2002

Pinnacle Micro, the distribution arm of JSE-listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings, has added five new server models to its Proline range of PC servers. According to Francois Lottering, product manager at Pinnacle for Proline desktops and servers, the new server models have been released based on Intel's new range of server boards and chassis. He states, "We have added two new entry-level server models, as well as three new models in the midrange."
The two new entry-level models - the Proline Office Pro and the Proline Atlas - are targeted at entry-level applications for up to 30 users. "In the mid-range, we now have four server models targeted at the SME market featuring the latest in rack-mount technology", explains Lottering. " The Proline Calypso is the smallest of our mid-range servers. Our two rack-mount models are the Proline Telesto ATA with an Intel SR1200 1U server chassis and Intel Coosbay ATA serverboard, and the Proline Telesto SCSI server. We have the Proline Prometheus server for more demanding users and an Intel Pentium III Xeon-based server in the midrange, called the Proline Calypso II."
At the enterprise level, Proline has its Titan series high-end file servers. Lottering concludes, "All Pinnacle's Proline servers are ISO9002 assembled and carry a three-year carry-in system warranty, which can be converted into an on-site warranty at the customer's request."
