Colour technology boosts Minolta-QMS' market share

1 April 2002

Results of the recent BMI-T SA Annual Desktop Printer Report, revealed that Minolta-QMS leads the South African colour laser printer market with a 32,1% share.
Minolta-QMS laser division product manager, Zarius Jordan, says the colour laser printer market has catapulted in recent months, with unit sales increasing by more than 320%." Market perceptions have traditionally classed colour laser printers as expensive, but the total cost of ownership has decreased considerably because of higher yields on toner cartridges and revolutionary advances in technology.
In anticipation of greater demand for colour laser printers, Minolta-QMS has expanded its product line to include the Magicolor 3100N, which is a desktop laser printer capable of delivering up to 16 laser quality pages per minute in both full colour or black and white.
The Magicolor 3100N uses Minolta-QMS Crown controller technology, which brings the benefit of an auto-sensing Ethernet network interface, and supports multiple printer languages simultaneously. Suitable for users printing more than 2000 pages per month, the Magicolor 3100N offers standard 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, standard features such as networking, 256 MB memory and automatic duplexer.
