Adobe standardises training facilities

1 August 2002

Adobe South Africa recently announced that all organisations and individuals in Africa offering training on Adobe products must prove specific levels of expertise in order to be recognised as Adobe Certified Training Providers (ACTPs).
Says Adobe South Africa country manager, Andrew Lindström: "The ACTP programme ensures consistency of Adobe training standards and curricula no matter where in the world users encounter them.
"The ACTP programme is being introduced in South Africa to ensure that service providers deliver quality training to end-users, ensuring that the high level of expertise expected by Adobe is carried through in all training material.
"To qualify, training centres need to have Adobe Certified Experts for the products before they can apply to join," says Lindström. Adobe Certified Expert trainers need to have successfully completed an on-line examination through an approved prometric centre in South Africa.
Currently, there are over 70 testing centres in South Africa. By joining the ACTP programme, the training centres have the right to use Adobe logos on their stationery. They are also listed on the Adobe.com and Adobe.co.za websites.
"Due to the financial climate in South Africa, Adobe will offer a discount to all approved training providers on their Adobe Certified Expert requirements," says Lindström. This will be made available on request to Adobe SA.
