Imaging Intergraph Systems southern Africa recently announced that Intergraph Corporation has signed an agreement with the Carl Zeiss Group to acquire its minority interest in Z/I Imaging, making the earth imaging company a wholly owned subsidiary of Intergraph. Z/I Imaging, formerly a joint venture between Zeiss and Intergraph, is a specialist in the earth imaging industry, offering solutions for the acquisition, exploitation, management and distribution of imagery.
Intergraph Systems sales director, Pat Thomson said, "Intergraph was a pioneer in computer-aided mapping and photogrammetry, and for 30 years has been a market leader in mapping and GIS. Owning all of Z/I Imaging will make it easier for the company to consolidate our leadership position as a premier supplier of end-to-end geospatial solutions."
Z/I Imaging will merge with Intergraph's Mapping and GIS Solutions division to provide a total geospatial toolset to national, state, and local governments, photogrammetric mapping firms and commercial customers in industries such as transportation, engineering, utilities, defence and intelligence. The merger further strengthens Intergraph's integrated product offerings and global customer support in all related areas - remote sensing, photogrammetry, and GIS/mapping.
