Customised digital mapping

1 February 2003

Spatial technology developers, MapIT, recently developed, for their client Tsala Technologies, 'Garmap' - a product that uses the very same maps contained in the map studio map book. MapIT developed the tools to vectorise maps, providing digital mapping information that makes customised mapping a reality.
MapIT recognised the need for a collective effort to provide highly sophisticated mapping know-how to meet the ongoing call from the marketplace for spatial platforms for a wide range of applications. MapIT managing director, Ray Wilkinson says: "Our highly intelligent mapping has supplied an innovative and effective way for Tsala Technologies, distributors of this product, to offer clients the opportunity to plan routes including direction, typography and possible natural obstacles. We pride ourselves on the fact that our data is geographically accurate up to two metres in urban environments."
MD of Tsala, Richard Gie adds: "This mapping base takes the guesswork out of positioning and orientation allowing you to up/download tracks, routes and roads to GPS, whether you are in the city or way off the beaten track. MapIT's data made this level of accuracy and know-how possible."
