Pamphlet distributor uses GIS to plan target locations

1 April 2000

Pamphlet distributor, P le Grange & Sons, recently acquired the MapInfo Professional package from Spatial Technologies to plan target locations for their distribution campaigns countrywide.
P le Grange & Sons is a family business, which has been in the pamphlet distribution sector for 40 years. The company's services include planning assistance for complete pamphlet distribution campaigns and targeted market analysis. The spatial analysis application from MapInfo targets the specific location of various target groups and provides an immediate visual summary of the location details.
"With MapInfo Professional, we are now able to deliver a more thorough and precise analysis of the target market," says Hennie Louw, Marketing manager of P le Grange & Sons. "The package has proven to be cost-effective in targeting the exact location of the market and then plots this information visually on a map. Utilisation of the product ensures even further effectiveness as the campaign is targeted directly at the selected market."
Says Louw, "Direct distribution, door-to-door, is a sure way of getting your message home to the market if the target market can be analysed and identified accurately.
At present, P le Grange & Sons provide a national distribution service with their head office in Parow, near Cape Town. They are able to do pamphlet and sample distribution in any part of southern Africa and neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique.
A member of the Demef Group of Companies, Spatial Technologies was formed in 1994 and is a specialist computer distributor and services company based in Rivonia, Gauteng. The company offers products and added value services enabling organisations to analyse and manage data spatially.
