New product line for earth imaging solutions

1 July 2001

Z/I Imaging Corporation, represented locally by Intergraph Systems Southern Africa, has announced the release of its new earth imaging products. Continuing to offer the world's only end-to-end solution set for the earth imaging industry, Z/I Imaging has released new versions of ImageStation and PhotoScan. The company also added several new applications to its product suite: ImageStation Automatic Triangulation 2001 for automatic aerial triangulation and POS Z/1 510 for direct geo-referencing of aerial images.
"Z/I Imaging is dedicated to evolving their existing hardware and software products," said Rex van Olst, MD of Intergraph Systems Southern Africa. "They provide the world's standard for photogrammetric workstations and scanners to high-end production shops and will continue to provide new solutions that will have a positive impact on our customers' productivity. As a result, we are introducing ImageStation Automatic Triangulation and POS Z/I 510. All of these products will help customers streamline their workflow."
To expand their acquisition solutions, Z/I Imaging announced POS Z/I 510, a new position and orientation solution. Pos Z/I 510 allows direct geo-referencing of aerial images when it is impossible or impractical to collect ground control. Integrating inertial sensors, GPS technology, and post-processing software, the system measures the absolute position of the camera perspective and orientation angles of each image at the exact time of exposure.
Z/I Imaging continues to make advancements to its exploitation products as well. Z/I Imaging announced the evolution of softcopy photogrammetric production systems with its new ImageStation 2001 - the fifth generation of digital production systems. The 2001 computer engine features high performance dual processors and the highest performance graphics available in the industry. The new modular rack-mount design allows for easy expansion with a 12 unit chassis that includes 5 units for the host computer offering dual Intel Pentium III processors; 512 MB of RDRAM; 36,7 GB system drive and two 73,4 GB data drives. The remaining seven units of rack space are available for customers to configure the workstation to meet their specific needs. Customers have a choice of dual or single 21" or 24" monitors.
